I am delighted that we can bring the first edition of the Voice for 2018 to you in our new digital format. We hope that this is more accessible for you as a reader and would welcome any feedback you have which can be sent to dwpeditor@pcs.org.uk. This edition deals with the events of the last few months and the upcoming AGM season.

Have your say
We are already in the AGM season, your branches are now looking at the year ahead and how we as a union can best support our members in our workplaces and our communities. Now is your opportunity to get involved, either by becoming more involved as an advocate or representative, or by attending members meetings and your AGM so you can listen to your committee and vote accordingly.

Desperate measures
With a new secretary of state and u-turns being made on Universal Credit it is an uncertain time not only for us as members but also for the people and communities that we are here to serve. This government has chopped away at the pillars of our society, our social security system and the NHS to name a few. We have to defy this action and support rallies and action wherever possible. Only by being part of PCS and linking with other unions and campaigning groups can we continue to push this government for a fairer social security and society for all.
