Combatting the recession

18 Mar 2009

Jobcentre Plus told negotiators from the GEC at a recent meeting that they intended to recruit 2,500 additional staff every month between now and October. This would reverse the job cuts of recent years and increase the Jobcentre Plus headcount to 82,000. They intend to recruit 50 Band C€™s and 50 Band B€™s in every Jobcentre Plus District. PCS welcomed the additional staff to relieve the excessive pressure members currently face.
