Welcome to the latest young members’ newsletter. It's produced 4 times a year and is written by young members for young members.

    In his final column as acting young members’ chair, Kris Rowe reflects on the upcoming young members’ seminar and elections.
     
  • Climate strikes
    Nicole Jeffreys, Yorkshire and Humberside young members’ convenor sets out details of the climate strikes taking place on 20 September and what PCS members can do to support them and get involved.
     
  • PCS Next Steps course
    PCS is running a new course for those who have completed the new reps or welcome to PCS course. George Richardson from the North West attended the last one and recommends that all young members look to attend.
     
  • International Youth Day
    This took place on 12 August. Kevin Scott, Northern convenor, explains the purpose of the day and some of the issues that young workers face in today’s world of work.
     
  • First young members’ meeting
    Megan Hamblin, deputy young members’ convenor in Wales attended her first meeting recently. She sets out what she learned and what was discussed.
     
  • The Durham Miners’ Gala
    This took place on 12 August. Kevin Scott, Northern convenor, explains the purpose of the day and some of the issues that young workers face in today’s world of work.
