Sexual Harassment

Statement from PCS National Women's Forum:

The PCS National Women's Forum met on 25 January, 2018 where we held a detailed discussion on sexual harassment.
We agreed to raise a range of concerns and recommendations with the Cabinet Office at forthcoming meetings on the civil service review of sexual harassment policy.

We will endeavour to update reps on progress and want to ensure that members who may wish to report current or historical sexual harassment at work are supported by PCS.

The forum also agreed that it would be good practice to review our own harassment policy to ensure that sexual harassment is covered.

We are encouraging branches to mark International Women's Day, which takes place on 8 March, either on the day or during the month of March using the global theme #PressforProgress to include equal pay, challenging sexual harassment using the #MeToo and #TimesUp hashtags, challenging patriarchal systems and striving for gender parity in all aspects of life.

Materials will be sent out to branches shortly and we would welcome reports and photos from your events.
