The gig will take place this Saturday at DINA in Sheffield to raise money for the DWP members who have now taken five weeks of strike action.
PCS members at DWP Sheffield Eastern Avenue jobcentre have taken five weeks of strike action to prevent the closure of their jobcentre and save vital services for the most vulnerable people in their community.
A benefit gig has been organised to raise funds for the strikers, which will take place from 6pm at DINA, Cambridge Street, Sheffield S1 4HP.
The organisers say, "It is an opportunity for people to celebrate what we have achieved and what things are out there in our future. This is the perfect chance for us to dance, drink, talk to each other and listen to some quality music played by a group who have volunteered their services to help us and to support us in our pledge to save our local offices."
Tickets can be booked via the event's Facebook page, and are £5 for waged and £4 for the unwaged.
As well as live music from local band Bright Lights, there will be a raffle, a quiz and short speeches to update people on the ongoing campaign to keep the jobcentre in the local community.
