Tackling disability discrimination

This a two day course held over two weeks (10 & 17 October)

This course is designed for PCS representatives, to give a basic understanding of the social model of disability and the Equalities act 2010  and how it benefits disabled members at work.
The aims of the course are to:

  • identify issues of concern for disabled members;
  • understand the scope and limitations of the equalities act
  • consider how using the social model of disability and the equalities act  might benefit members and applicants for employment and promotion.

Through the activities you will develop transferable skills that will assist you in your role representing members. The course will help you build an invaluable resource pack. The course is accredited by the National Open College Network.
