From the editor

With the announcement of the 2019 pay offer, now more than ever we need members to stand up and be ready to fight for what we deserve.

Our members are not only dealing with the reality of low pay, but also with the realisation that jobs within the DWP are far from secure.

We need as many members as possible to get involved, whether it be as an ordinary member, a branch rep, or as a branch advocate, to ensure we have the strength behind us to win the ongoing campaigns.

I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Martin Cavanagh on becoming the new DWP group president, and say congratulations to Fran Heathcote, outgoing DWP group president and new PCS president. I would also like to place on record a thanks for all her contributions to the Voice over the years.

If you have a story or a letter you would like featured in the next edition of the voice, please send to dwpeditor@pcs.org.uk.
