Our national executive committee is committed to improving representation at all levels. At the PCS Annual Delegate Conference in May 2019, motion A18 was carried overwhelmingly and it instructed the NEC to organise further discussions throughout the union to win support for changes to the union’s structures and rules to improve women’s representation.
The NEC has agreed that there needs to be a more extensive and inclusive discussion to address the arguments for at increasing women’s representation on the NEC in the context of the overall organising strategy.
All branches are encourage to hold a facilitated discussion on improving representation at members’ meetings and at meetings of their branch executive committee.
The purpose of this form is to collate views and information on the gender balance of those facilitated discussion meetings and events.
A report of the meetings will be brought to the NEC with a view to submitting a motion to ADC 2020 based on feedback.
