We are sad to report that Josie Green, a longstanding member of the DWP group editorial board and equality committees, has stepped down from her union roles nationally due to ongoing health issues.
Josie has been a keen and active member of all the committees on which she has served and made a valuable contribution to our union over many years. Josie has been popular with her colleagues across the various structures at sub-GEC level and respected by those who knew and worked with her.
Group president, Martin Cavanagh, said: “It is sad that Josie has had to step down from her union positions nationally. Josie has played a valuable role in our group for many years and she will be missed on those committees on which she’s served. She is a genuinely lovely human being and a good comrade, and the GEC sends its very best wishes and solidarity to Josie for improved health now and in the future.”
