Instructional Officers

Enshrined in the branch constitution is the prison instructional officer grade sub committee, known as the NPIOG.

This is a crucial body which considers problems that arise from the specialist nature of the instructional officer job.

Membership of the NPIOPG is drawn from instructional officers. The NPIOG chair and three committee members are elected annually by our Instructional officer BEC members from within their number.

An annual forum is convened normally in November, and we invite instructional officers from each prison to attend.
