HMPPS - Moving to 102 Petty France or Southern House

02 Jun 2017

PCS continues to engage with HMPPS regarding the move of staff to 102 Petty France and Southern House

The Government is planning to reduce its central London occupancy of buildings from 80 to 18 due to the high costs of keeping staff in the centre, (£10,500 per person, per desk annually compared to £5,000 in Manchester and £3,000 in Croydon) SCPPG Caseworkers will be moving to Southern House Croydon in June this year

Clive House will be vacated by the end of September with all remaining staff moving across the road to 102 Petty France to join staff from other governmental departments. The MoJ will only occupy 50% of 102, with an average 60% desk coverage there is the likelihood that some MoJ staff may have to be further relocated. Southern House (Croydon)or in the pan-government building in Canary Wharf are under consideration.

Canary Wharf will be available sometime after January 2018. Further regionalisation of work is likely with locations such as Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds being considered. Clive House will be vacated by the end of September with all remaining staff moving across the road to 102 Petty France to join staff from other governmental departments. SCPPG Caseworkers will be moving to Southern House Croydon in June this year. PCS will be meeting HMPPS shortly for further discussions on ensuring staff suffer no detriment when relocating.
