We have achieved improvements on front counters and have issued a Union Inspection Notice requiring improvements in Met Intel.
Although we had to go into dispute with the Met to engage with us in an effective way over the handling of the Covid-19 crisis, we have made progress in all areas and continue to engage with the Met over the next steps as we start to come out of lockdown.
PCS has not been invited to any meetings with the Met over police staff pay. The Police Officers' review body has received submission from the Police Federation and Superintendent association but as yet has to report its findings following government approval.
On 18 May 2020 we held our first on-line all members meeting using MS Teams. As a result of the feedback the Group Executive Committee has agreed to hold more meetings every 3 weeks.
In 2015, PCS agreed a pay deal that changed police staff working hours from 41 hours per week including 5 hours paid meal breaks to 36 hours per week including 5 hours unpaid meals breaks.
