We would like to thank you for the work you have continued to do in these very difficult times and we know that your local PCS Branch Reps have supported you when line managers have not always followed the published MPS or Public Health England advice.
PCS wrote formally to the Metropolitan Police on 9 April over concerns that remain with the advice and the way the organisation is responding to the COVID-19 crisis. This was not done lightly but reflects the increasing concern around issues that are coming to PCS.
Mandatory training courses cancelled.
PCS has requested a series of preventative measures to be implemented within front counters.
Following PCS intervention, we have been able to resolve a number of issues. We now have a twice weekly meeting via video with the Gold Command to ensure issues are resolved quickly and can feed into the Silver Command on a daily basis.
