Metropolitan Police security guards

The Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) security guard contract is currently with Engie. Our members are responsible for the effective security access management of staff, visitors and vehicles across the MPS estate.

The MPS security provision has been outsourced and undergone several transfers under TUPE (transfer of undertakings) rules. This means we have PCS members employed on ex MPS, ex Amey, ex Balfour Beatty Workplace, ex Cofely and Engie contracts of employment.

PCS is the main union for staff working for the Metropolitan Police Service and all its outsourced contracts. All security guards should join PCS.

PCS currently has trade union recognition for security guards employed on ex Amey contracts of employment. This means we collectively bargain on issues such as pay and terms and conditions and representatives have rights to paid time off to represent you. We believe that all workers have the right to organise themselves independently through a trade union and are actively campaigning for PCS trade union recognition for all security guards working on the MPS contract.
