Fran says it will be a challenging winter, but we should be proud of all we have done so far in 2021

Mark Serwotka says as we head into the winter months, there’s never been a more urgent need for a trade union campaign to stop the government’s relentless attack on your standard of living. In the chancellor’s budget in October it was made clear that this government is not just content with failing to tackle the cost-of-living crisis, they are going to make it worse.

The coronavirus pandemic has exposed how workers’ safety is taken for granted and nowhere has this been more apparent than in our critical dispute with the DVLA. The disgraceful behaviour and tactics from DVLA management and government ministers have surprised even me, and that’s why this is now one of the most important disputes in our union’s history.
