Black History Month: Celebrating Black Trade Unionists
In our second event to mark Black History Month, the national black members' committee (NBMC) and Home Office group will jointly present this session honouring and celebrating the contributions of Black trade unionists to the labour movement, both historically and in the present day.
We will explore the vital role Black workers have played in shaping workers' rights, fighting for equality, and advancing social justice within the trade union movement. The session will highlight key achievements, ongoing challenges, and the importance of solidarity in overcoming systemic barriers
We will be joined by Hector Wesley, PCS national vice-president and HMRC group president, Angela Grant, PCS NEC member and DWP group president, and Jacqueline Clarke, Home Office Yorkshire and North East branch vice-chair.
