Care Quality Commission staff vote yes for action over pay
PCS members who work for the Care Quality Commission, CQC, have sent a clear message to CQC management with the result of a consultative ballot on the pay offer.
Of those who voted in the online ballot, 91% voted in favour of industrial action or action short of strike action.
Our pay consultation exercises with CQC have made clear how disappointed and angry members are about the lack of a pay offer, as well as with the more long-standing problems concerning the pay system and this result confirms their frustration.
Following this result PCS will be looking to hold a statutory ballot in the New Year.
The other unions representing colleagues in CQC are also taking the same action. Unison has already indicated that it intends to hold a statutory ballot for industrial action or action short of strike action.
