DVSA ballot - how to vote

The ballot for industrial action over the new 8-test schedule opened today. Here’s what you need to know about how to vote.

PCS is balloting driving examiner members for industrial action on the issue of the 8-test schedule. The ballot opens on 6 September and closes at noon on 24 September.

Postal only ballot

Because the ballot is statutory it will be postal, with voting packs sent to members’ home addresses.

Ballot papers will be posted on Monday 6 September; you should allow until Thursday 9 September to receive the original before requesting a replacement.

Replacement ballot papers

You can apply for a replacement postal ballot by e-mailing balloting@pcs.org.uk. The e-mail must contain your membership or national insurance number and your postal address, this is so we can check the details we hold before issuing a replacement. Please put “DVSA ballot” in the subject heading of your email.

The last date to request a replacement ballot paper is 12 noon on Friday 17 September.

New members

New driving examiner members who join before Wednesday 15 September will automatically be included in the ballot, and the scrutineers will despatch a ballot paper no later than Friday 17 September.
