Imperial War Museum redundancies – motion launched in parliament

Chair of the PCS Parliamentary Group, Chris Stephens MP, has tabled an early day motion (206) in parliament in support of PCS members facing redundancy across the Imperial War Museum estate.

49 visitor service assistant (VSA) posts are currently threatened at sites including the Churchill War Room, HMS Belfast and the Imperial War Museum North and South.

The company who recently took over the VSA contract, ZE Global, made the decision to cut jobs after only 4 weeks with no consultation with PCS.

Contact has been made with shadow DCMS minister Alex Sobel and it is hoped a meeting will be arranged in the coming days to discuss the campaign. A letter from our parliamentary group to the director general of IWM, Diane Lees, will also be sent in due course.

Members can encourage their local MP to sign EDM 206; MPs' contact details can be found online
