Join the debate on the Comprehensive Spending Review

We are hosting an online discussion after Chancellor Rishi Sunak has presented the autumn budget and his plans for the next 3 years.

The chancellor of the exchequer will unveil the autumn budget and spending review on 27 October.

The Spending Review 2021 will set departmental resources and departmental expenditure limits budgets from 2022-23 to 2024-25 and the devolved administrations’ grants for the same period, and will also include the autumn Budget.

The Spending Review is likely to contain major announcements that will affect your pay, pensions and jobs. This is on top of the 2% pension overpayments, 1.25% National Insurance increase, 2% rate of inflation and the cuts to Universal Credit.

We are holding a Facebook Live/Zoom event at 6pm on 27 October to talk about what was announced in the Spending Review and to start planning our response.

Our general secretary Mark Serwotka and president Fran Heathcote will be joined at the online event by former shadow chancellor John McDonnell MP. Please join us to help shape our next steps. Just go to the PCS Facebook page at 6pm on 27 October or to join by Zoom, register in advance on Eventbrite

Please also continue to email your experiences to editor@pcs.org.uk of how you and your family are being affected by the costs crisis.
