Join in the Fringe events at ADC

As part of this year’s annual delegate conference we are hosting a range of Fringe events.

Annual delegate conference 2022 begins at 2pm on Tuesday 24 May and closes at lunchtime on Thursday 26 May.  There is still time to register if you wish to attend.

During conference we will be holding eight Fringe events in the early evening and during lunchtime breaks.

The first event on 23 May, Pay and Pensions: how we fight and win will also be available on Facebook Live, but the remaining events will be for delegates attending conference in person.

The pay and pensions event will be chaired by PCS national president Fran Heathcote and guest speakers will be our general secretary Mark Serwotka, Jeremy Corbyn MP and Jo Grady, general secretary of the UCU. The meeting we will discuss what we need to do to win a decent pay rise for all and fairer pensions contributions.

During the lunchbreak on 24 May there will be sessions on Stop the War in Ukraine and the 4-day week: from PCS demand to workplace reality.

That evening there will be a session on How to oppose the Tories in Parliament and in our communities, chaired by Fran Heathcote and featuring guest speakers Mark Serwotka and John McDonnell MP.

On 25 May the lunchbreak sessions will be Demand an employer safety pledge on health and safety pledges in workplaces and Solidarity with Ukraine which will be addressed by guest speakers from the labour movement in Ukraine. There is also a lunchtime session on Trade Unions and the Fight Against Racism – Opposing Johnson’s Racist Offensive with guest speakers from Care4Calais and Stand Up to Racism.

During the evening of 25 May the final Fringe session will be on Energy and climate crisis – making a living on a liveable planet which looks at how climate change work can become a mainstream union activity.
