MPs oppose government attack on our jobs

Cross-party MPs have launched a campaign in parliament to oppose the government's plans to cut 91,000 civil service jobs and call for the plans to be withdrawn

The announcement to the media last week that the government was looking to cut 91,000 jobs was roundly condemned at the time by PCS and many other trade unions.

Early Day Motion 60 was tabled by PCS ParliamentaryGroup Chair Chris Stephens and our honorary president John McDonnell. It already has signatures from MPs in 6 different political parties.

Members can ask their own MP to sign this EDM by completing our simple campaign action which explains to MPs our concerns over pay and pensions and why this latest attack must be opposed.

We are meeting the Cabinet Office today to outline our opposition to the announcement and our national executive committee is holding an emergency meeting tomorrow, after which a further update will be issued.
