New FCDO branch formed

At the end of May the PCS NEC formally approved the constitution for the new FCDO PCS branch.

The new branch will now act as one on all issues concerning your employment with the FCDO.  Current BEC members on both legacy sides will retain their positions in the new branch until elections in 2022.  However there are a number of vacancies and we would encourage anyone interested in becoming a BEC member to approach either Andy Dallas or Steve Mollison for further details.  The new branch officers can be seen on the contact us page.

During the next few weeks there will be a significant amount of housekeeping and administration tasks to be carried out, and as part of this process we need your help as soon as possible:

  1. Please ensure you are signed up to PCS Digital here.
  2. In PCS Digital, check your personal information, including workplace and contact details.  We won’t know what is correct, so please change anything that isn’t up to date, and continue to amend as and when necessary.

There are a number of issues that arise from the merger which will continue for the foreseeable future.   We will continue with our policy of honest and constructive engagement with the administration endeavouring to keep you up to date with news and developments when they occur through newsletters and members meetings.   We plan to hold an inaugural BEC soon and then have a wider members meeting on zoom in due course.

Finally we start from a strong position, branch numbers are growing and add to the weight we can bring to bear in our discussions with the administration moving forward.  Please talk to your colleagues and encourage them to consider becoming PCS members.
