OCS member donates back pay to support DVLA members in struggle over Covid safety
A successful campaign by OCS members on the HMCTS contract secured a two year settlement that significantly improved pay, terms and conditions. In June OCS members received the back pay in respect of year one of the deal. In a massive show of solidarity one of our OCS members donated £200 of their back pay to support DVLA members in their dispute which sees a continuation of strike action over Covid safety.
In making the donation the OCS member recognised that our members must stand together to show solidarity to each other during times of struggle.
The member said: “I donated to the DVLA members striking because I know that financial pressure and money worries over loss of pay due to strike action can impact on mental health. I also recognise that families could be struggling during the period of strike action. I stand in full solidarity with our brothers and sisters who are striking for their safety”
