Pay and Pensions Rallies – come along to have your say

Ahead of our consultative ballot, we are holding a series of online rallies to talk about the campaign and hear your views.

In advance of the national consultative ballot which starts on Monday 14 February, PCS is holding a series of online rallies in virtual venues across the UK. Details of the rallies can be found on our events pages.

The rallies will update members on the latest news on the campaign and hear from leading figures from other unions about their battles too. Alongside our own general secretary Mark Serwotka, and president Fran Heathcote, we will be joined by Jo Grady (UCU), Kevin Courtney (NEU) and Paul Fleming (Equity).

With inflation now at 5.4% (CPI) and real inflation on energy prices and fuel much higher, we can’t afford another year of pay cuts. We need to put maximum pressure on the Treasury to make 2022 the year that we make up for the years of cuts. We have submitted a national pay claim and asked for negotiations to start straight away.

On pensions we saw the government change their guidance just before the Christmas break by now claiming that the 2% extra, which scheme members have overpaid since April 2019, is no longer an overpayment due to a revaluation forced on them by their previous law breaking. PCS will continue to challenge this position and our latest position will be explained at the rallies.

Sign up for one of the online rallies, pick the date and time that suits you best.
