PCS calls on HMRC to retain ‘work from home’ guidance in Wales

Our call comes in light of the decision by the Welsh Government to remain at Covid-19 ‘Alert Level Zero’.

On Friday 25 March, the Welsh Government confirmed that “…due to the increased pressure to the NHS we will be moving more cautiously than previously signalled”.

Throughout the pandemic, HMRC has followed not just central government Covid-19 guidance, but guidance issued by the devolved administrations. Given this, PCS has written to the department, calling on HMRC to recognise the cautious stance taken by the Welsh Government; adding that this stance should be fully reflected in the department’s approach, where the timing of any widespread return to the offices in Wales is concerned.
