PCS reps to attend Conservative party conference demonstration tomorrow

The PCS campaigns to save DWP offices from closure, and for better pay and pensions will be highlighted by representatives from PCS tomorrow at a demonstration outside the Conservative party spring conference in Blackpool

Martin Cavanagh, our DWP group president and north west regional chair, is speaking about the union’s campaign to save DWP offices from closing, and about pay, pensions and how the cost of living crisis is affecting working people.

We are currently holding a consultative ballot, which closes on Monday (21) as part of our pay and pensions campaign.

The event, organised by local trade unions, will see people gather at the Comedy Carpet on the seafront near to the Blackpool Tower at 11am, and march to the Winter Gardens / St John’s Square for speeches until 1.30pm.

PCS National President Fran Heathcote is also attending the event.
