PCS Scotland campaign for a 4-day week
In April 2020, PCS worked with think-tank Autonomy to conduct research into the feasibility and desirability of the 4-day week across different job roles and shift patterns in the Scottish Government. The research demonstrated that 84% of workers believed their work processes could be adapted to suit a 4-day week
In September 2020, PCS held a ‘What we mean by the 4 day week’ webinar for members.

More than 300 members attended to hear from Will Strong, director of Autonomy and Cat Boyd, PCS Scotland national officer. Members who attended this event asked us to produce a 4-day week FAQ document which you can read on PCS Digital.
Over the next few months, PCS Scotland will be progressing this campaign. Look out for communications about this by email and speak to your workplace rep if you are interested in getting involved.
