PCS what’s on 21 to 27 February

Our national consultative ballot on pay and pensions is now open and voting is a priority for many reps and members. There is also a series of courses for reps and for members

Vote in the ballot

We are holding a national consultative ballot for all our public sector members from 14 February to 21 March. The ballot will ask members whether they support our campaign demands, which include a 10% cost-of-living pay rise and pensions justice, and whether they would be prepared to take industrial action if those demands are not met.

This is not a strike ballot. It will ask members what action they would be prepared to take. A statutory industrial action ballot might follow later.

Make sure your contact details are up to date so we can send you campaign updates. Register and log into PCS Digital.

Register for PCS conference

Registration for this year’s annual delegate conference is now live.

Annual delegate conference (ADC) 2022 will begin on Tuesday 24 May and close at lunchtime on Thursday 26 May.

The 2022 ADC and group conferences will be physical conferences in Brighton, although we are making contingency plans in case full physical conferences are not possible because of the pandemic.

The physical conference will include speakers and voting from the conference floor. In addition, speaking and voting procedures will be open to delegates attending online.

Strike ballot at the British Council

British Council employees in the UK and on UK contracts overseas are being balloted to ask if they are willing to take strike action over redundancies, restructuring and outsourcing.

The strike ballot closes on 25 February.

You can help our members by:

  • Signing our petition
  • Emailing Liz Truss using our e-action
  • Contacting your MP and ask them to sign our Early Day Motion
  • Sharing your support on social media using #HandsOffBritishCouncil
  • Contacting PCS to offer your support to our campaign.

The first took place earlier this month and the second takes place on 24 February.
