PCS A to Z: Benevolent fund
In our A to Z of benefits of joining our union, B is for our benevolent fund.
We know that many members are regularly struggling financially, particularly with the recent cost of living crisis, or from time to time find themselves having money problems and nowhere else to turn.
The PCS benevolent fund is for members who are facing severe financial hardship. Anyone who has been a member for at least six months can apply.
We can make a grant to help you of up to £500 in a 12-month period. The money doesn’t have to be paid back.
You will need to complete a form with full details including your income and outgoings. Applications are looked at every week and payments are made by bank transfer.
To request an application form, email benefits@pcs.org.uk and put "Benevolent fund application" in the subject line. Please allow a maximum of 10 working days for a response.
