Stand Up To Racism Trade Union Conference 5 February

PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka is a key speaker at the ‘Fighting for anti racist workplaces’ conference.

The Stand Up To Racism Trade Union Conference on Saturday 5 February has been organised jointly by the TUC and Stand Up To Racism. Held online from 11am to 4pm, the conference will discuss how to build the unity necessary to oppose racism in our workplaces and in wider society.

Conference agenda

The morning’s session for all delegates “Opposing Johnson’s racist offensive - Fighting for anti racist workplaces” will be followed by workshops, including challenging the legacy of colonialism, opposition to the policing bill, migrant workers and eliminating institutional racism. Delegates will then come together for the afternoon discussion “#WorldAgainstRacism - Building for UN Anti- Racism day”.

All PCS members welcome to attend

There are no limits on who can attend this online event, so all PCS members, reps and advocates with an interest in campaigning against racism are encouraged to register. NEC members and reps from the PCS equalities forums will also be attending.

UN anti racism day of action 19 March

The TUC and Stand Up To Racism are also marking UN anti-racism day on 19 March 2022 with public demonstrations in London, Glasgow and Cardiff (subject to any Covid restrictions or concerns).  Further information including posters and flyers about these marches can be found on the SUTR website.
