Strike action and rally at Royal Parks

PCS members at Just Ask Services, employed as cleaners and toilet attendants at the Royal Parks, took strike action today in their dispute over pay, pensions and terms and conditions.

The striking members held a good natured, noisy and energetic rally outside the Royal Parks headquarters in Hyde Park this morning.

PCS assistant general secretary, John Moloney, spoke at the rally, which was also addressed by six of the striking members and the president of PCS’s culture group. Members of the culture group attended the rally with their group banner and members of the United Voices of the World union also came along in support.

The strikers elected their negotiation team and agreed on further action to be taken if their demands are not met.  PCS has put six demands to the company, the key ones being no job losses and parity of terms with directly employed staff working for the Royal Parks.
