Update on MoJ pay negotiations

Negotiations on a three-year pay offer have been ongoing since last year. These were put on hold while the business case for the offer was cleared by the Cabinet Office and Treasury.

Once negotiations have been concluded, the offer will need to go back to the Cabinet Office and Treasury for final approval and sign off and then, once this is received, the details will be shared with Ministry of Justice staff.

Pay is subject to collective bargaining which means that the four unions that are recognised (PCS, FDA, Prospect and GMB) will each ballot their members on the offer and acceptance will require a ‘yes’ vote from each of the unions.

Ahead of any ballot there will be a series of members' meetings where we will share the details of the offer so that you can fully understand what it means for you prior to any ballot opening.

We will update you as soon as we are in a position to do so.
