The responses to the PCS Pay Survey in HMRC and VOA are grim. With HMRC and VOA on course to stay Minimum Wage employers, 62% of members struggle to meet basic costs, 44% need outside support to supplement their pay, and 61% are considering leaving.
Progress has been made in 2023, but civil service pay is still trailing, so in HMRC and VOA, PCS is launching an on-line survey of members, to be completed by Friday 17 November.
HMRC accepts more than 90% of IPC staff are shift workers and entitled to Shift Disturbance Allowance (SDA). Positive meeting held with HMRC, with commitment made to back-pay SDA. A members' meeting is set for 18 October.
A reminder for PCS members working in HMRC's Inland Pre-Clearance, who are currently being balloted for industrial action. Find out how to request a replacement paper for the ballot which closes on 11 October 2023.
The CPS has published details of its full and final pay offer for 2023/24. PCS has written to the head of HR operations rejecting the offer as it falls significantly short of our national demands.
