PCS members working for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs are campaigning to become the first central UK government department to trial a 4-day working week.
Some managers have incorrectly authorised excess Annual Leave carryover for their staff; however HMRC has instructed those managers to tell staff their excess Annual Leave will be retrospectively revoked.
More details have come from HMRC, following the Civil Service World article about the government plan to place a 40% 'cap' on the amount of working from home that will be allowed under hybrid working in the civil service.
‘Civil Service World’ article talks of “expectation of increased office-based working”. PCS is in talks with the Cabinet Office, as well as departmentally with HMRC.
