Following the prime minister’s announcement to lift the Plan B Covid restrictions, the DWP has followed suit in effectively lifting Covid-related safety measures for staff and jobcentre claimants, increasing the risk to our members and the public.

The UK government has scrapped Covid plan B restrictions in England. Mask wearing will no longer be mandatory in certain settings and the ‘work from home if you can’ message has been dropped.

27 people drowned last night, after trying to reach the UK in a small boat. Amongst the dead include 17 men, seven women - one of whom was pregnant - and three children, France's interior minister Gerald Darmanin has said.
