We have submitted our 2022 pay claim to the Department of Health and Social Care, which seeks to address levels of disparity and inequality that are completely unacceptable and are in urgent need of redress.

PCS is aware of issues regarding additional payments made to Digital Support Officers relating to the changes in the way staff carrying out these roles are paid.

As part of the MoJ pay deal a number of existing allowances and ways of remuneration for certain specialist grade jobs changed and interim arrangements have been put in place pending a series of reviews across all of these roles.

In November 2020, the Chancellor announced as part of the Spending Review that there would be a temporary pause on pay rises for most public sector workforces in 2021/22, including the civil service.

PCS has met with the HMCTS pay team to discuss specialist pay. The meeting focussed on Saturday and bank holiday ‘occasional’ courts and legal adviser pay. HMCTS has advised that the proposal outlined to PCS is an interim arrangement.
