Against a backdrop of almost 1 in 3 HMRC staff needing an uplift earlier this month, just to keep in touch with minimum rates of pay across the civil service, you should make sure you play your part in the PCS campaign for fair pay, pensions and jobs
HMRC responds to criticism from MPs regarding the time taken to answer calls by closing helplines in Self-Assessment, Pay as You Earn and VAT.
PCS has called for changes to court designs and ways of working that ensure people are better protected, following the incident of a violent assault on a judge which left him hospitalised.
HMRC accepts more than 90% of IPC staff are shift workers and entitled to Shift Disturbance Allowance (SDA). Positive meeting held with HMRC, with commitment made to back-pay SDA. A members' meeting is set for 18 October.
Inland Pre-Clearance members meet the legal threshold and vote overwhelmingly for action. PCS continues to hold talks with HMRC and will keep members informed.
