News
The national executive committee has met to discuss progress in our national campaign and what needs to happen next.
Fresh PCS strike ballots have opened today (20 March) of 124,125 members in 186 employers, across the civil service and public sector so members can continue to fight for fair pay, pensions justice and job security as part of our national campaign.
PCS will continue to fight for pensions justice for members and consider an appeal following the announcement that our judicial review of the government’s decision not to reduce members’ civil service pensions contributions has not succeeded.
The government has announced via a written ministerial statement that public service pensions, including the Civil Service Pension, will increase by 10.1% from April 2023.
From April a change will take effect in the salary threshold which determines the rate of employee contribution in the Civil Service Pension Scheme.
