PCS members shouldn’t have to sacrifice their pensions to fund pay rises, says our general secretary Fran Heathcote, in response to former head of the civil service Lord O’Donnell’s pronouncement that there should be “more pay, less pension”.
PCS members working in 700 jobcentres across the UK working on the DWP security contract are to be balloted from 1-15 May for strike action over pay.
PCS reps will share how they are getting the vote out in our national strike ballot at a live event at 7pm on 24 April.
PCS told the minister for the Cabinet Office to concentrate on improving our members’ pay and conditions after he criticised civil servants for "still working from home too much" and “languishing in lockdown habits for too long.”
PCS is campaigning against the threat of being derecognised as an official union with negotiating rights at the Imperial War Museum, which has 5 sites in England and Northern Ireland.
