Mark Serwotka's retirement after 23 years as general secretary of PCS signifies a pivotal point in the history of our union. The election which opens today (9) is the opportunity to choose the union’s most senior employed officers.
PCS general secretary, Mark Serwotka, said it was a historic day for the union and democracy in action in his opening speech at the inaugural Scotland devolved policy conference today in Glasgow.
PCS is making history over the next few weeks, with our inaugural PCS devolved nations conferences taking place on 26 October (Wales) and 2 November (Scotland). Find out how to get involved.
Health and safety (H&S) leads at all levels of the union are invited to attend the next meeting of the National Safety Forum on 4 October.
Branches are encouraged to hold an extraordinary general meeting to make one nomination each for the general secretary and assistant general secretary positions.
