PCS What's On: 25 - 31 January
This week sees a series of lunchtime pay meetings to protest against and discuss the 2021 pay freeze. The coming week also includes a wide range of courses available to new members and experienced reps alike.
Progress has been made but further concessions are needed for members based in Europe.
PCS is calling for an immediate review of safety arrangements across HM courts and tribunals service amid increasing concerns that courts are unsafe as the number of Covid-19 cases rises sharply.
Courts, jobcentres and DVLA Swansea should be closed temporarily and immediately because of the rapidly rising Covid infection rates, urges PCS, as the Cabinet Office strengthens its work from home message.
With the 2021 pay freeze announced by the government looming PCS is holding a series of regional and nation meetings on Friday 29 January to update members in the civil service on the campaign.
In the coming week, PCS is offering sessions on a wide range of subjects, including: understanding your civil service pension, the Spanish language, writing poetry and Microsoft Powerpoint, as well as union courses for members wishing to become reps, and for reps looking to further their skills.
