PCS is backing a national NHS demonstration being held next month, and we’re urging members to turn up and show their support for public services.
Reps should let members know that transport is being arranged from across the country. If you haven’t received details, contact your regional PCS office and/or check the transport page on the People’s Assembly website.
Please bring branch banners and encourage colleagues, friends and family to come along and help make the PCS presence visible and vibrant. It’s also a good way to engage non-members with the union.
We are also looking for more stewards to help out on the day, from 11am - see below.
PCS campaigns for properly-funded public services and public sector jobs, and against privatisation, cuts and closures. Issues in the NHS are the same as those affecting the whole of the public sector and the civil service.
We hope you and your colleagues will join us in sending a strong and clear message to government that public services must not be privatised.
When and where?
Date and time: Saturday, 4 March, at noon.
Assemble: Tavistock Square, London, WC1. PCS placards, flags and other materials will be available.
Nearest Tube: Russell Square/Euston
March: To parliament
Use social media and branch emails to share details of the event.
Circulate the PCS flyer about the demo – if you need more, download some here, get them from your PCS regional office or order direct via firstname.lastname@example.org (quote job reference no. 8621, number of copies and delivery address)
Help out on the day
PCS will be providing stewards to assist with the running of the event and with the distribution of PCS materials. Please encourage members to take part. Stewards will need to be available for a briefing at the assembly point at 11am on the day. To offer your help, email email@example.com
Let us know you’re coming
Branches are asked to estimate the number of members and send details to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please also give the name of your branch and contact information for a ‘lead’ branch officer, including a mobile telephone number.
