The march is being organised by the People's Assembly to mark 70 years of the National Health Service.
Trade unionists and health campaigners are gearing up for a mass demonstration and celebration of our NHS on 30 June in London.
Organised by the People’s Assembly and a host of health unions, the march follows sustained attacks by the government on the NHS, with austerity, creeping privatisation and chronic underfunding which have stretched our health service to breaking point.
Services are being cut and cancelled, hospitals and wards are closing, there are staffing shortages across every part of the system and increasing parts of our health service are being outsourced to private companies.
Never has there been a more urgent time in her 70 year history to stand up and defend what is yours. The last generation built it and we all pay for it.
PCS is backing the national demonstration and is encouraging members to mobilise people in their branches to attend.
It is important the PCS contingent are visible, vibrant and that we send the strongest possible message that the NHS is ours.
