Facebook Live event to commemorate murder of George Floyd

17 May 2021

The PCS national black members’ committee is holding the event on 26 May from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. It is open to everyone.

George Floyd’s murder by a white police officer on 25 May 2020 prompted waves of protests in support of racial justice in the US and across the world. The Facebook Live event organised by the PCS national black members’ committee (NBMC) will reflect on the recent court trial verdict, as well as looking at the rise of the global Black Lives Matter movement.  It is a public event and all are welcome.

The event will be hosted by Mohammed Shafiq, chair of the NBMC.  Fran Heathcote, PCS national president, Zita Holbourne, PCS national vice president and Bell Ribeiro Addy MP will also speak.  There will be an opportunity to ask questions and participate at the meeting.  You can also submit questions in advance to the Equality team at equality@pcs.org.uk.

You can access the event through the PCS Facebook page.
