PCS is calling on members to join protesters on Tuesday, 4 June to rally against President Trump’s state visit to the UK and his politics of division.
Huge numbers are expected to join the main Together Against Trump national demonstration in Trafalgar Square, London from 11am on 4 June.
PCS is organising with the Together Against Trump coalition, made up of trade unions and social justice campaigners, to make Trafalgar Square a “Trump Free Zone”. We want to create a family-friendly, carnival atmosphere and celebrate the diversity of our city.
Themed areas will feature throughout the protest with climate justice, migrants’ rights, racism and misogyny among them. Activists plan to ‘follow Trump’ by marching from Trafalgar Square to nearby locations depending on the details of Trump’s itinerary for the day.
PCS members should meet outside the National Gallery at 11 am before moving to Trafalgar Square. Join us with your PCS banners and flags.
From Trafalgar Square, the PCS bloc along with other protestors, will head down Whitehall for a rally within a hundred metres of Downing Street whilst Trump has lunch and holds a press conference with Theresa May at Number 10. We will then march to Parliament Square.
PCS general secretary Mark Serwotka is one of the speakers due to address the rally
