Sarah Valentine, newly elected to Proud’s national committee, reflects on the importance of Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR) to her.
After nearly a decade spent as a teacher / trainer in Asia, I came back to Glasgow to embrace my fears. I joined DWP in July 2016, and PCS on day one. I recently became a team leader, and live by the rule that it's nice to be nice. I enjoy helping others and have started to play a more active role within the union, starting by becoming a deputy rep. I am looking forward to becoming more active within PCS to champion equality and encourage and promote an inclusive working environment for all.
PCS rep Sarah Valentine describes the passion and diversity of the 7th annual STUC LGBT+ Workers’ Conference which she attended as a first time delegate.
For International Transgender Day of Visibility, Sarah Valentine shares her positive experiences of her transition at work, supported by her PCS rep and colleagues.
