With the summer holidays underway, PCS education takes a short break. In the meantime the main task we are encouraging all PCS members and their families and friends to do is sign and share the PCS pay petition.
PCS pay petition
The petition recognises the contribution made by UK government workers during the pandemic crisis, opposes another real-terms pay cuts, and calls for an across the board pay increase. 35,000 people have now signed, but PCS needs members to promote the petition to get that number even higher and to show the governement how much support there is for civil servents who have worked extrodinalrily hard during this crisis to keep the country running.
If you'd like to see how your local area (parliamentary constituency) is performing you can use this interactive map. The areas that currently have the most signatures are:
- East Kilbride, Strathaven and Lesmahagow
Want to see your area climb the ranks and to see the union reach its goal of 100,000 signatures? Here are 5 things you can do to help:
- Sign our petition, on the UK government and parliament petitions website.
- Share our petition on social media.
- Ask a work colleague to sign the petition. The more of us who sign it the stronger we are.
- Get involved in PCS, if you’re not already.
- Ask non-members in your workplace to join PCS. The more of us who are in the union, the more chance we’ve got of being successful.
