Following trials during the pay ballot earlier this year, the app has now arrived and all branches should have access. The app represents a potential game-changer for PCS.
As a lay rep-led union, it gives all reps and advocates the chance to organise their workplaces and branches effectively and quickly.
All reps should be making use of the app on a daily basis. They should be mapping and ‘apping’ their workplaces and recruiting advocates. Advocates will be key as our eyes and ears in the workplace.
We all know that we haven’t reached the 50% threshold in the last 2 pay ballots. The app gives us a realistic chance of meeting and even breaking that target.
Key to this will be the recording of mobile numbers and home emails, meaning we can communicate with our members independent of the employer’s IT. It also allows us to build for the future.
