Apply for a PCS course

Please contact for the course application and expenses estimate calculator forms. Please complete as fully as possible.

The application form should be printed out and signed by the course applicant then forwarded to a branch officer (chair, secretary, organiser or treasurer) for signature before both forms are sent to the PCS eastern regional office (the address is on the application form). Alternatively you can return the forms electronically – the applicant should email the forms to their branch officer AND Mel Ewles at; the branch officer then needs to email branch authorisation to Mel.

Courses outside of the PCS eastern region will be considered - especially where it is shown that attendance will be cheaper than attending a course within the region - or that the course is not scheduled within a reasonable timeframe. All forms must still be returned to the PCS eastern regional office and will then be forwarded to the course administrator.

When you apply for the course please also complete and return to the regional office the expenses calculator form; this will give us an estimate of your likely expenses so that we can ensure that we have funds to cover your expenses. If paying for your travel or accommodation will cause you financial hardship you can request an advance; the expenses calculator will advise you how much you can claim in advance and you can indicate that you would like to make the claim. You can also use the travel request form if you wish us to purchase rail tickets for you. If you require overnight accommodation this must be authorised before you book. Please contact for course application, expenses estimate calculator, travel request, advance expenses claim or application for overnight accommodation forms.

Where possible we prefer to pay your expenses directly to your bank – this saves members’ money, reduces the impact on the environment and speeds up receipt of your expenses. Please complete the bank details on the advance and/or claim forms.

PCS Eastern only has a limited fund to cover all rep training expenses and we try to maximise the number of reps trained. This may mean that we cannot authorise attendance for all courses.
